Preferred Diameters & Thickness

Culvert should be laid on a firm, well compacted granular bed 100mm deep in a trench 500mm wider than the pipe diameter.

Back fill with well compacted selected material passing 75mm screen in 150mm deep layers. Continue restricted back fill until minimum cover then bulk earthwork to final level.
